I’m not someone who finds it easy to rely on others. It’s not that I don’t do it, it’s just that I find it hard to understand other people’s intentions - or when someone is genuinely helping me, and when they’re actually helping themselves. Often, well after the fact, I realise that someone really helped me. I think this is true for most of us. It’s a shame how unaware we can be of the people who are doing their best for us. I made this work about a moment where everyone is aware, and how nice that feels - only with dogs, because it’s better to make a painting about dogs than to talk about your feelings. Enjoy!
