At night when I’m walking my dog I think about all the different lives being lived in the houses we walk by. Houses are funny like that, they encapsulate so much life, while shielding everyone else from seeing it. I wanted to make a painting about how nice it is to live in a neighbourhood, and to know that someone has left the light on for us - waiting for us to come home.
